- no ordinary love

(really great cover, gives me ch-ch-chills)

check out today's the province, my girl jessica is interviewed on B2. she's probably the most ambitious person i know. go support the ubc film festival this weekend.

may: english 362 class

july-august: working at an international summer camp on the ubc campus.

best books read this school year...

1. The Metamorphosis: Franz Kafka (how would your family react if you turned into a giant bug? hopefully not like the Samsa's, what pricks!) introduction of the text on this site: http://www.randomhouse.com/crown/metamorphosis/

2. The Golden Spruce: John Vaillant (about an environmental conservationist who goes to the extremes just to make a point: he cuts down the rarity that was the golden spruce. madness!)

3. Crabwalk: Gunter Grass (hand-held history lesson combined with fiction on the greatest maritime disaster known (and no, it is not about the titanic!))

an important movie.

it shows the blatant effects of hegemony (but not in a strictly political sense, which i liked).

it reinforces the power of language and what people choose to do (or not do) with it. makes you question and think about the links that one concept has with another.

ideas bring about freedom. words become the ultimate weapon. we all matter.

hey you, want to do the SunRun with me? i don't want to walk 10k alone (and yes i'm walking it, i am in no state to run or jog). it'll be fun. i think. let me know.

don't say otherwise but i think it is true, i am growing more and more boring.

ooh la la it might snow this week
